Text Box: My name is Patrick “Ricky” Evans Jr. and I am the LDO at Wilmslow Lacrosse Club. I was born and raised in Watertown, New York by Kathy and Pat Evans. My mom is a retired elementary school teacher and my dad is a real estate lawyer. My dad plans to come over to England at the end of my stay here around early April where he and I plan to travel to Italy. I have one sister, Katie, who is 25 years old and living in Denver Colorado. Some interests of mine are reading, working out, travelling, and anything sport related. I started playing lacrosse when I was ten through the influence of my friends and father, (who played at Columbia College in Queens New York) and the rest is history.

After playing lacrosse throughout high school I was recruited to a few different colleges, among them, Hobart College. I chose Hobart because I wanted to play at the highest level of lacrosse (D1) but also because it was close to home and offered the best scholarship.

While at Hobart I had trouble figuring out what I wanted to study. I had plans to follow in my dad’s footsteps and become a lawyer. I therefore chose a major that I could enjoy and do well at so that my grades would be high enough and applicable to get accepted to law school. My studies focused on Christianity and its relationship with Judaism but also covered many religions throughout the world.

However when I do get home I am not quite sure what I want to do. I’m not ruling out law
School but for now I do not think it’s was I want to do. Maybe I’ll invest in a new Citron (same car I have now) because it’s such a great vehicle! It was quite the experience learning how to drive stick shift on the other side of the road. Stalled out a few times went down a roundabout the wrong way and just recently got a speeding ticket, but that’s water under the bridge.

As for traveling, being here in the UK is my first time abroad. I have been outside to the US but only because New York state boarders Canada. So coming to the UK to coach was an opportunity to see the world outside Watertown New York. It also was a chance to give back to a sport that has given me all it has. I could not think of a better way to spend a year abroad then playing and coaching my favorite hobby. Also while being in England I plan on traveling as much as I can. I have tickets to go to Amsterdam and Germany for Christmas and have already been to Poland.
